The Circle of Happiness

It’s what its all about at the end of the day. If we all looked out more for each other, reached out more and invested in kindness, it would be brilliant.

I was speaking to someone today – someone I hadn’t spoken to in a long time. I needed her help with something.  What I wasn’t expecting was that when I’d ring her she would be needing my help!! It’s a funny world! Anyway she is in a bit of a crisis at he moment. Very raw. Knocked back a bit.  It was easy offering her constructive, independent and neutral advice on the phone. I am unattached to her situation and not compromised by the emotions that she is feeling. She listened and we chatted more. She said ‘You were sent to me today, Shane’. She needed a bit of practical psychology!! It was lovely giving it. She appreciated it so much. Indeed I have often spoken about the benefits of compassion.  And she was very keen to help me with my matter too.  It’s what its all about at the end of the day. If we all looked out more for each other, reached out more and invested in kindness, it would be brilliant. We are naturally kind and it is only the stresses of life that diminish the flame. Kindness is a circle. There is no end to it but there is a big hole inside and outside the circle. We all need to become part of the circumference of kindness to feel its true benefits.
