Hope

Hope instils newfound confidence and ignites energy in those that have fallen in crisis

Hope conquers doubt and despair. It opens the door to recovery for those who are sick. It stretches life span of many sick people in the cancer ward and pulls many others through challenge and upheaval. Hope instils newfound confidence and ignites energy in those that have fallen in crisis. It casts the demons of pessimism out of any room of doom and gloom. For many people it is so much easier to be hopeless. It’s as if there is an in-built attraction to it – a bit like falling in love with someone destined to break your heart.

My father was a very hopeful man. He always found the good as well as the bad. He always reminded us about how things could be worse and how tomorrow was another day. Hope is radiant. I believe it extends life in the cancer ward and opens a curtain in the room of darkness of depression. Once the curtains part the dark room is no longer in complete darkness. The light tempts us to contemplate the potential of a better life or of turning things around for the better. We are blessed if we have ‘hopeful’ friends. It’s never too late to be happier and healthier. it’s never to late to embrace a better quality of life! It’s never too late to turn the corner! We are constantly underestimating our own potential to change things for the better. Hope is a gift and psychology needs to get to the bottom of it and design ways to bring it more into our lives. Maybe with practice we can grow it more.
